LaVon Donnie Tatem

LaVon “Donnie” Tatem aka Donnie Tatem, was born LaVon Darnell Tatem - an American Singer/Songwriter and former member of the R&B Recording Act “TRU” from Camden, NJ.    TRU stands for (Talented, Religious & Unique).
Donnie was co-founder of the Jazz Trio "Jazz Eternity" along with Ryan Bates, he also was a member of the group "The Gentlemen Of Leisure" that recorded the single "Never Had A Love Like This Before" in 1980.
In 1981 Donnie was a member of the legendary gospel group "The Stars Of Harmony", an accapella vocal group from Woodbury, NJ.

During the late '80's through the 90's, Donnie toured as a solo Gospel Artist. 

In 1986 Donnie helped open The Camden School of Musical Arts, Inc. as a Charter Member and served as the Vice-President and then the President of the Board Of Directors during the first 10 years of operation... ​
In 1995 Donnie was recruited to play the starring role in the off-Broadway play "If Only For You" by IJN Productions of Atlantic City, NJ.
In 2012 Donnie opened LAVON D. TATEM MUSIC

In 2013 Donnie was listed in Covington's Who's Who

In 2015 Donnie became a Charter Member of The National Museum of African American History and Culture

In 2008 Donnie  joined  TRU and recorded the albums:
“With TRU Love” in 2009 on Sounds Of Philly Records and wrote and produced the song “You’re Not Alone”.
Recorded “I Have This Dream”  by Michael Jackson, David Foster and Carole Bayer Sager in 2010  for Fusion Records (Unreleased)
"My Love Is TRU" in 2010 on Society Hill Records and wrote the songs “Night & Day Dreams” and “Who Do You See When You Look At Me?”
Recorded background vocals on the 2010 CD of Glenn Leonard (former lead singer of the Temptations) featuring Jean Carne entitled “Then and Now”
“Promise of the Future” in 2011 on LAVON D. TATEM MUSIC
Recorded background vocals in 2013 on the CD of Jean Carne “Flash Back”
“Back For More” in 2014 on Society Hill Records
